MIDWAY, Ky. Two weekend wins helped Midway distance freshman Carson Milner earn the River States Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week Award, the league announced Monday.

Milner was victorious in both the 800- and 1,500-meter runs at the Pioneer Invitational in Lexington Saturday. He ran two minutes flat in the 800 and 4:04.04 in the 1,500. His performance helped the Eagles, who opened the outdoor season with a win at the Asbury Invitational March 16, place second in the follow-up competition.

It's the first Athlete of the Week award for Milner. He is the first Eagle to win the outdoor prize since Abdul Salaah earned it on April 3 of last year.

Midway will stay in Kentucky again this weekend, traveling to Danville for the Centre College Invitational.
