LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Emerson VanScoy hit another national qualifying 'A' standard as Midway closed the outdoor track and field regular season at the Clark Woods Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville over the weekend.
No team scores were recorded at the meet, which featured more than two dozen NCAA Division-I programs.
VanScoy, already a pole vault and high jump 'A' qualifier, hit a new personal record height of 3.82 meters in the pole vault B division Saturday, where she finished 12th. That narrowly topped her previous outdoor record of 3.80 from earlier this seasons and was just shy of the program record of 3.84 set by
Nevaeh Brown in 2022.
Fellow national pole vault national qualifier
Maddi Reed took part in the C division on Friday, finishing fifth at 3.67 meters.
She was one of two fifth-place finishers for the Eagles over the weekend, the other being
Trinity Gottler, who threw 38.64 meters in the A Division of javelin.
The Eagle men had one top-eight finisher in
Carson Milner, who ran a 14:58.31 to finish seventh in the men's 5,000-meter run B Division.
The Eagle men and women will both take part in the River States Conference Outdoor Championships, which will be held in Rio Grande, Ohio next Friday and Saturday.
