HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Midway got a pair of second-place finishes to find its way in ninth-place at the Northern Kentucky University Men's Track Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division-I NKU Saturday.
The Eagles finished with 36.5 points, with the best individual performance coming in shot put, where
Cole Sexton had a runner-up top throw of 13.76 meters. Sexton also finished fifth in discus with a toss of 43.43.
Also taking second was the 4x100 meter relay team of
Javari Burnett,
Brayden Carson,
Gregory Anderson and
Tyler Withers, who finished in 45.75 seconds. That was one of two scoring finishes in relays, with the 4x400 team placing sixth in 3:44.42.
The Eagles got a pair of top-eight finishes in the one-mile run, with
Carson Milner placing fourth in 4:22.61 and
Josiah Kocis taking seventh in 4:31.46.
Others to score were Jeremiah Aiken in javelin (fifth, 31.06) and Carson in both long jump (seventh, 6.14) and high jump (T-eighth, 6.14).
Midway has two more meets scheduled before the River States Outdoor Championships, starting with the Centre Twilight in Danville, Ky. on Friday.
