LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Midway men's track and field team had six top-five finishes at the Jim Vargo Invitational, hosted by Bellarmine and featuring several NCAA Division-I programs on Saturday.
The event did not record final team scores
Leading the way were
Finley Mayoh and
Carson Milner, who took third in the 800- and 5,000-meter run respectively, with both coming in behind only D-I runners.
Mayoh ran a 1:56.55, topped only by runners from Northern Kentucky and Western Kentucky, while Milner ran a 14:52.61, behind only a pair of racers from Bellamine.
Brayden Carson added a pair of top-five marks in field events, placing fourth in long jump (6.49 meters) and fifth in high jump (1.87).
Also earning fourth-place finishes were
Cole Sexton and the 4x100 relay team of
Javari Burnett,
Ben Jones,
Latavian Hamilton and
Tyler Withers.
Sexton topped out a 49.44 in hammer throw, while the relay team finished in 44.56 seconds.
The Eagles will stay in state next Saturday, traveling to Danville for the Centre College Invitational.
