MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway men's basketball senior guards
Amari Wales and
Decoreio Smith have been named Players to Watch by the River States Conference, the league announced Tuesday.
Wales averaged a team-high 17.1 points per-game in his first season with the Eagles in 2024-25. He scored 20 points or more eight times while eclipsing 30 on two separate occasions.
Smith was second on the team in scoring at 15 points per-game while also leading the team with 51 3-pointers, 36 steals and 14 blocked shots.
Both Wales and Smith were
second-team all-conference selections at the end of the season.
Midway opens 25-26 at home against Union (Ky.) at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23.
