RICHMOND, Ky. - The Midway women's golf team concluded the fall season at a highly difficult Gibson Bay Intercollegiate Tournament, placing fifth with a 137-over par score of 1,001.
All four teams ahead of the Eagles are currently ranked in the NAIA top-20. No. 11 Cumberland came out on top with a 923 (+59), coming in ahead of the likes of No. 17 Pikeville (935), No. 9 Lindsey Wilson (952) and No. 20 Milligan (957).
The Eagles made a four-stroke improvement from round one to round two, ending the first day with a 328 (+40), but struggled with a 341 in the final round Tuesday.
Fresh off a runner-up finish at the River States Conference Fall Preview,
Kasey Cameron led the way with a 20-over par score of 236. Cameron had Midway's best individual rounds, recording a 77 (+5) in both the first and second.
Also inside the top-25 was
Savannah Salchli, who was 23rd with a 33-over 249.
In 32nd and 33rd respectively were
Anna New and
Anna Simpson. New shot a 258 (+42), one stroke better than Simpson.
Elsewhere,
Kelsay Collins was in 37th (267, +51) and
Kyrie Dickenson was in 39th (277, +61).
The Eagles will be off until the spring, where they will begin their
River States Conference title defense.
