MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway's
A'Lyrica Hughes and
Jermyra Christian have been named Players to Watch by the River States Conference in the lead up to the women's basketball season.
Hughes,
a First-Team All-RSC selection last season, established herself as one of the NAIA's top defensive players as a freshman a year ago.
She led the conference and was tied for eighth in the country with 3.3 steals per-game. She also led the Eagles with 5.8 rebounds an outing while finishing second on the team in points (12.6) and assists (2.9).
Christian, a Second-Team All-RSC honoree in 2025, averaged a team-best 13.5 points and 3.2 assists in her sophomore campaign, leading an offense that was second in the River States in scoring at 78.2 points per-game.
The Eagles open the season at home against Miami Middletown (Ohio) at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.
