MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway got back to .500 both overall and in River States Conference play with wire-to-wire dominance in an 8-0 win over Kentucky Christian at the Midway Turf Field Thursday night.
The eight goals are tied for the most the Eagles have scored against a league opponent since the formation of the River States Conference in 2016. They also reached that tally
against Indiana Columbus last season and against Brescia in both 2016 and 2018.
Haylee Applegate and Sloane Pollack both finished the night with two goals, while
Anna Kneisley had three assists.Â
Applegate, a senior, recorded her 10th career multi-goal game at Midway while Pollock had the third of her freshman season. Kneisley had her second-most assists in a game, trailing only the four she had
in a 16-0 win over Alice Lloyd last season.
Elsewhere,
Laykin Irvin and
Nadia Meeks had their second goals of the season in a 2:29 stretch in the first half before
Kylie Hudgins scored her fourth just over five minutes into the second.
The scoring ended in the 75th minute when
Valarie Solache recorded her first Midway goal on the first Midway assist by
Zoe Sparks.
Pollock and Hudgins recorded 10 and nine shots respectively, as the Eagles held a 34-1 shot advantage, en route to improving to 4-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the RSC.
Midway travels to face Indiana Kokomo at 5 p.m. Saturday.
