RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The Midway women's wrestling program traveled to Rio Grande for the first two duals in program history Monday night.
Kaily Bussard and
Trinity Gottler both went 2-0 and the Eagles won five matches overall, but ultimately lost to Bethany (W.V.) and host Rio.

Things started as well as they could for the Eagles, as
Zyler McMillian needed just 26 seconds to pin McKenna Acampora in the 103-pound opener.
Midway would drop the next five matches before consecutive wins by Bussard and Gottler at 145 and 160 respectively.
Bussard defeated Jasmine Craddock 8-2 with Gottler pinning Chase Marie Ryan in 1:03.
That would be all for the match, however, as the Eagles had to forfeit the next two weight classes.

Despite the loss, Midway was even more dominant at 145 and 160.
Bussard earned a 12-3 decision against Kara Bedout with Gottler needing just 20 seconds to pin Paige Russell.
Midway,
which competed for the first time at the Trojan Women's Open in Mount Olive, N.C. last Saturday, now have 10 days off before traveling to Marshall, Mo. for the Missouri Valley Open on Nov. 21.
