MIDWAY, Ky. - Looking to build on a great fall, Midway's Esports program recently began the spring portion of its schedule, with all four Eagle teams returning to action.
Fresh off a
Parfly Mixed 2 Conference Championship win in December, Call of Duty ran its record to 9-0 with a 3-1 win over Wright State on Jan. 20 and a 3-0 victory over Southern Indiana on Jan. 22.Â
Midway was then knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten on Monday, suffering a 3-0 loss to Ashland.
League of Legends,
which was 8-1 in the fall, continued their dominant streak, earning a pair of 1-0 wins over Dalhousie University and West Virgina Tech on Jan. 28.
LOL
is attempting to win a division title in the spring for the second season in a row.Â
Elsewhere, Rocket League and Overwatch both got off to 2-1 starts, each team earning consecutive wins after losing its opener.
Rocket League defeated the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology by 1-0 forfeit, then topped Mitchell 3-0 after an opening loss to Arkansas State Mountain Home Thursday.
Overwatch overcame a 2-0 loss to Waynesburg on Friday with wins by the same score over Pace and Saint Vincent.
Midway returns to action next week, starting with a Call of Duty doubleheader against Ferris State and Eastern Michigan Monday.
