Women's cross country opens '25 at Asbury

WILMORE, Ky. - Three Midway runners placed in the top-10 as the Eagle women's cross country team opened the 2025 season in a dual at Asbury Friday.

Dubbed The Eagle Opener and co-hosted by the two schools, Asbury won with 16 points while Midway came away with 45. Kentucky Christian also had one runner in the field but did not record a score.

Leading Midway in the two-mile race was Stevie McSorley, who came in fifth in a time of 13:52.24. 

Ariah Egleston and Riley Gillis also placed inside the top-10, Egleston in seventh (14:13.28), Gillis in 10th (15:07.81).

Macy Adams (13th, 15:41.41) and Abby Baldridge (16th, 15:52.84) completed the scoring for Midway while Alarra Cobbins (18th, 18:35.83) and Mariacamila Navarro (19th, 20:41.61) also competing.

The Eagles return to action next Friday, competing in the Panther Prowl at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, Ky.
