VERSAILLES, Ky. - Stevie McSorley once again led the Midway women's cross country team, taking third place at the Midway Cross Country Invitational Friday, an event where the Eagles also placed third as a team.
At its hosted meet at Falling Springs Center in Versailles, Midway finished with 77 points. Cumberland won the six-team meet with 23 points while Georgetown was second with 45.
McSorley continued her strong junior season with a time of 25:58.63, coming in behind only Melissa de Jong of Oakland City (25:25.49) and Sarah Wilkerson of Cumberland (25:47.13).
She was joined in the top-20 by
Ariah Egleston, who was 19th in 28:06.90. Just one spot shy in 21st was
Riley Gillis, who ran the 6K race in 28:34.31.
Macy Adams (24th, 30:39.44) and
Abby Baldridge (28th, 32:33.68) completed the scoring for the Eagles, who return to action on Oct. 4 for the Louisville Classic, held at Tom Sawyer Park.
