Women's volleyball places eighth in preseason RSC poll

MIDWAY, Ky. - River States Conference coaches are predicting a ninth-place finish for the Midway women's volleyball team in 2025.

The Eagles secured 46 vote points in a preseason poll of RSC coaches released Tuesday. That put them between No. 8 Oakland City (48 points) and No. 10 Indiana Columbus (43).

Coming out on top was seven-time defending RSC regular-season champion Indiana Kokomo, which earned 120 points and 10 of 12 first-place votes.

In the runner-up spot was Rio Grande, which had 109 points and the other two first-place votes. Indiana East, which upset IUK in the River States Championship match a season ago, was third with 102 points, with Saint Mary of the Woods (90) and Shawnee State (74) rounding out the top five.

Midway will begin the 2025 season on Aug. 23 with a pair of invitational matches in Batavia, Ohio. The Eagles face Cincinnati-Clermont at noon and Franklin College (Ind.) at 2 p.m.
