LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Midway Eagle Invitational went about as well as it could have for the Midway women's golf team, which rode a medalist performance by
Kasey Cameron to a first-place team finish.
The Eagles opened play Monday with a tournament-best 329 (+41) then closed with a 336 on day two. Its 665, 89-over par tournament score was 14 strokes better than runner-up Huntington (Ind.).
Cameron, who was five strokes off the lead entering day two, had the best individual round of any player in the entire tournament Tuesday, shooting a 77 (+5). She finished with a final score of 160 (+16), two strokes ahead of runner-up Emma Rowland of Indiana Southeast.
It was the first medalist performance of the season for Cameron, the defending River States Conference Golfer of the Year.
Two other Eagles ended play in the top-five as well.
Anna Simpson finished in a tie for third with a final score of 165 (+21). Simpson was alone in second place after day one, in which she shot a seven-over par 79.
One shot behind her in a tie for fifth was
Savannah Salchli, who carded an 83 (+11) on both days of competition.
Just outside the top-10 in 11th place was
Haley Rice, who finished with a 170 (+26).
Other competing for Midway were
Anna New in 13th place (175, +31),
Kelsay Collins in 18th (183, +39).
Kyrie Dickenson in a tie for 21st (186, +42),
Reese Romer in 28th (201, +57) and
Joi Bogan in 32nd (225, +81).
This was the Eagles' first win as a team
since the 2025 River States Conference Championships and follows the Lindsey Wilson Spring Invitational earlier this month, in which they
had the best three-round team score in program history.
With just one match left before the 2026 RSC Championships, Midway will look to continue its strong regular-season finish at the Northeast Tennessee Spring Shootout in Johnson City next Tuesday.
