Four Eagles earn All-RSC women's tennis honors

MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway women's tennis had four players earn All-River States Conference designation on Wednesday, with Alicia Sanglas Sanglas and Emma Pheiffer both making the league's First Team.

Sanglas and Pheiffer routinely got the Eagles off to great starts this season, where they put together a 9-3 record as the No. 1 doubles team.

Both had success as singles players as well, with Sanglas going 7-5 at No. 1 and Pheiffer going 8-4 from the No. 2 position.

Tanit Cevada Cruz earned all-conference honors for the second year in a row, landing on the Third team after winning 10 combined matches across singles and doubles. Cevada Cruz was a Second-Team All-RSC player a season ago.

Midway's Champion of Character was Raigan Allbert.

The Eagles earned the No. 2 seed at this week's River States Tournament and will open play in the semifinals at 10 a.m. Friday. They will face the winner of a Friday matchup between No. 3 Indiana Southeast and No. 6 Indiana Kokomo.

The tournament will be played at the Wesselman Tennis Center in Evansville, Ind.
