MIDWAY, Ky. – Kasey Cameron and Savannah Salchli have been invited to compete in the 2026 Woodford LPGA Legends Golf Invitational this weekend.

The Woodford Legends Invitational is entering its fourth year of competition. The event celebrates women's golf by bringing together legends of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the top amateur women golfers from across the state of Kentucky.

Annika Sörenstam joins the field for the first time this year. The Swedish-born legend is regarded as one of the greatest players in LPGA history. She has 72 career victories, 207 top-10 finishes and 268 top-25 finishes and was named LPGA Rookie of the Year in 1994. Also returning for this year's event are Catriona Matthew and Becky Morgan, who will look to defend their back-to-back titles.

But Midway will have two of its own joining the field in 2026.

Kasey Cameron, a junior from Richmond, Kentucky, enters the tournament and the 2026-27 season following an impressive 2025-26 campaign. She won both the Kentucky Christian Spring Invite and the Midway Eagle Invitational while adding six additional top-three finishes. Against NAIA competition, Cameron posted a record of 451-84-7 and finished the season ranked No. 89 in the region. She was also named First Team All-River States Conference and was selected as the River States Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Savannah Salchli, a senior from Frankfort, Kentucky, looks to build on her 2025-26 season. Salchli captured the River States Conference individual championship with a score of +16, helping lead the Eagles to the River States Conference Women's Golf Team Championship. She was also named the 2026 River States Conference Champion of Character.

"I'm very proud and excited for these two young ladies," said Midway head women's golf coach Otis Smith. "They both had exceptional seasons last year, and they have earned every accolade and opportunity they've been afforded."

The invitational gives two of Kentucky's top collegiate golfers the opportunity to compete alongside some of the most accomplished players in LPGA history.

This year's event tees off Saturday, Aug. 8, with the second round taking place Sunday, Aug. 9. Tee times for both days are scheduled for 10 a.m.
