MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway University and Clark's Pump-N-Shop have teamed up to honor one male and one female student-athlete every week as the Clark's Pump-N-Shop Athletes of the Week.
The weekly award will recognize the outstanding performances of one male and one female Midway student-athlete. Winners will be selected by the department's head coaches based on their performances from the previous week and will be announced each Monday morning on the Midway Athletics website and social media platforms.
"Clark's Pump-N-Shop is proud to be the sponsor of the Midway University Athletes of the Week for both men's and women's sports," said Rick Clark, co-owner of Clark's Pump-N-Shop.
Kaleb Chase is the first male Athlete of the Week. Chase recorded eight tackles in the Eagles' 38-24 victory over Calumet. Of his eight tackles, six were solo. The junior hails from Wesson, Miss., and is a Coaching and Sports Leadership major.
Kasey Cameron is the first female Athlete of the Week after continuing her strong collegiate career. Competing in the toughest field the Eagles will see this fall, Cameron finished tied for 11th at the Wildcat Fall Invitational. She finished 10-over-par and trailed the tournament leader by just nine strokes. The junior hails from Richmond, Ky. and is a Business Administration major.
