MIDWAY, Ky. -- Midway University has once again been recognized for its commitment to sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership, earning NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Gold Institution status for the 10th consecutive year.

The Eagles were one of 203 institutions nationwide to receive a Five-Star Award from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Midway also earned a perfect score of 100 in the association's Champions of Character criteria to achieve Gold status.

"Being recognized as a Five-Star Champions of Character Institution for the 10th consecutive year is a testament to the culture we've built at Midway," said Dr. Heath Morgan, Vice President of Athletics & Student Affairs. "Our coaches, student-athletes, and staff continue to prioritize integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership every day. We're proud to once again be recognized by the NAIA for living out those values."

Institutions are evaluated on their demonstrated commitment to the NAIA Champions of Character initiative and earn points in five key areas: character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion.

Schools also receive points for outstanding student-athlete academic performance and maintaining minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the academic year.

In addition to Midway's recognition, the River States Conference was also named an NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Conference.
