RSC Baseball Tournament pushed back a day due to rain

Chillicothe, Ohio – The River States Conference Baseball Tournament was rained out Friday, May 5, the scheduled first day of the six-team double-elimination tournament being held at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. The tournament will pick up Saturday, May 6 with the games that were scheduled for Friday. None of three scheduled games from Friday were started or played.

With the rainout on Friday, Sunday will no longer be an off day. Instead, Sunday will be used to play the games that were originally scheduled for Saturday. The tournament continues with the schedules for Monday and Tuesday unchanged.

Saturday's schedule begins at 11 a.m. with No. 1 Point Park (Pa.) versus No. 6 Brescia (Ky.) playing the opening game of the tournament. Next up at 3 p.m. is No. 2 IU Southeast versus No. 5 WVU Tech. Saturday's games finish up with No. 3 Rio Grande (Ohio) versus No. 4 Midway at 7 p.m.

There will be three more games on Sunday with the same start times of 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday's schedule follows the same pattern, and the championship round begins Tuesday at 11 a.m. with only two teams left at that point.

Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for students and $3 for youth under the age of 12. The tournament is being hosted by the Chillicothe Paints of the collegiate wood bat league the Prospect League.
