Midway Baseball Garners ABCA Academic Excellence Award

MIDWAY, Ky. -  The Midway baseball team has been recognized for its success in the classroom, earning the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2025-26 academic year.

The prestigious award recognizes high school and collegiate baseball programs coached by ABCA members that demonstrate outstanding academic success throughout the year. To be eligible for the award, a program must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

During the 2025-26 academic year, the Eagles baseball program posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.556, earning recognition from the ABCA.

The academic honor adds to a successful season for the Eagles on the diamond and highlights the commitment of both the university and the baseball program to achieving success in competition and in the classroom.

This year's award class features more than 800 collegiate programs and over 300 high school programs. The award is presented to qualifying programs across all levels of collegiate athletics.

The ABCA is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Founded in 1945, the organization now has thousands of members representing programs across the globe. The ABCA is also responsible for several other honors, including the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
