MIDWAY, Ky. -- After clinching a playoff berth on the final day of the regular season, the Midway University baseball team enters the River States Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed on Thursday.
The six-team double-elimination tournament gets underway on Thursday (May 6) and runs until the final day on Sunday (May 9) at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. The winner of the tournament will earn the league's automatic berth to the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round.
Luther Bramblett's squad clinched the final playoff spot after winning their regular season finale at Asbury (Ky.), while also getting an assist from Point Park (Pa.) who swept Oakland City (Ind.) in a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eagles are scheduled to open play in the championship on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET when they battle top-seeded IU Southeast (Ind.). The Grenadiers ran through the regular season winning 26-of-27 conference games en route to winning the regular season crown.
The next contest pits the No. 2 seed Asbury (Ky.) against the No. 5 seed Rio Grande (Ohio) at 3 p.m. ET. Asbury set a school record wins and took second place in the final standings, while Rio Grande is back to defend their title after winning it the last time it was contested in 2019.
The final game of the opening day of the tournament is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and features the No. 3 seed Point Park (Pa.) and the No. 4 seed IU Kokomo (Ind.). The matchup features the 2018 tournament champion (Point Park) and the 2019 runner-up (IU Kokomo).
The championship continues with three more games each on Friday and Saturday with start times again scheduled for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The championship round begins on Sunday at 11 a.m. with a second championship game if necessary at 3 p.m.

Admission at VA Memorial Stadium is $7.00 for adults, $3.00 for students with that price gaining entrance for an entire day. No tournament passes will be sold. Fans must wear a face covering if they are unable to social distance or not with their immediate family. Concessions will be available. No outside food, drink or coolers are allowed in the stadium.
