MIDWAY, Ky. -- The River States Conference office announced on Monday (April 25) that Blake Kincaid of the Midway baseball team had been named the RSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for the week of April 18-24.

The weekly honor is the first of the season for Kincaid, while it is the first of his young career. He also becomes the first Midway baseball player to earn the weekly honor this season.

The sophomore from Columbia, Tenn. carded a terrific start to help lead Midway to an 11-4 victory over Ohio Christian in the opener of the three-game series.

The right-hander tossed six innings allowing just one earned run on seven hits. He also fanned eight batters to bring his season total to 78 as he became Midway's all-time single-season strikeout leader in the win.

Following the win last week, Kincaid improves to 5-5 on the season. He has pitched 60.1 innings and has carded a 3.73 earned run average in his 12 appearances.

The Eagles went on win the series over Ohio Christian winning 2-of-3 as they improved to 17-25 on the season overall and 13-7 in league play. The series victory also helped the Eagles lockup at least the No. 4 seed in the RSC Tournament.
