Box Score 2 TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Midway men's volleyball team got into the win column for the first time this season, coming out with a split in a pair of matches at the Saint Mary of the Woods Tri-Match on Saturday.
The Eagles defeated Kentucky State 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 before falling 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 to host Saint Mary of the Woods.

The Eagles got great attack balance on their way to a sweep of KSU. Jai'Den Chinnis led the team with 10 kills, while Colton Marsh and Joseph Boujaoude each had nine, with Boujaoude (.444) and Marsh (.429) each finishing with hitting percentages above .400.
Setter Daniel Cogo continued his strong start to the season with 28 assists. Cogo played a critical role in each set's final point, setting up Marsh, Martin Walker and Boujaoude for the clinching kills.
Jose Conde added 13 digs for the Eagles, who not only earned their first win of the season, but also got their first ever victory over the Thorobreds, who defeated Midway twice a season ago.

The Eagle defense struggled against the Pomeroy net attack. It was particularly strong in the final set, where St. Mary of the Woods finished with a .550 hitting percentage to complete the sweep.
Cogo led the way again, finishing with 16 assists and two service aces for Midway, which is now 1-4 on the young season.
The Eagles are back on the road Wednesday, playing the fourth of nine consecutive matches away from home when they take on Campbellsville at 7 p.m.
