Eagle bats struggle again in loss to Lindsey Wilson

Box Score

MIDWAY, Ky. - It was a tough all-around day for the Midway baseball team, which struggled to generate offense for the third game in a row in an 11-0 non-conference loss to Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) Tuesday.

The Eagles had just three hits on Tuesday and have just 10 over the last three games, a stretch in which they've scored just one run.

After a slow start, the Blue Raider offense was sparked by a three-hit, five-RBI effort by Chance Slayton, who completed the scoring with a two-run home run in the top of the seventh, securing a run-rule win Lindsey Wilson.

Garrett Worthington had two of Midway's three hits, as the Eagles fell to 12-11 overall, leading up to a weekend road series against Point Park.

The Eagles and Pioneers, who won the River States Conference regular season and tournament titles respectively last season, will play a single game at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

The series was originally slated to be played Friday and Saturday, but was adjusted due to weather concerns.
