OWENSBORO, Ky. - Big runs proved to be Midway's undoing on Monday, as the Eagles fell 25-22, 25-21, 25-19 in a Mid-South men's volleyball road match at Brescia.

Midway responded nicely after falling behind 6-0 in the first set, taking its first lead at 16-15 on an attack error and seeing it grow to 21-18 on a Devonte Harmon kill.

But that was followed by another 6-0 Bearcat run, one where half the points were earned off Eagle errors.

Midway had another late lead in set two, when Daniel Cogo set Jai'Den Chinnis up for a kill that made it 20-18, only for Brescia to score seven of the set's final eight points, with the first three coming off Eagle errors.

The Bearcats then followed the same formula to complete the sweep, putting together five straight points after the Eagles had tied the score at 14. Midway finished set three with a negative hitting percentage.

For the second-straight match, Jose Conde led the Eagles in assists with 12. Chinnis had a team-high six kills with Joseph Boujaoude and Jonathan McGuyer recording nine and eight digs respectively.

Midway falls to 2-14 overall and 0-5 in the MSC. The Eagles host Mid-South foe Rio Grande (Ohio) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
