MIDWAY, Ky. - After breaking four Midway records in her first collegiate outdoor track and field event, Trinity Gottler secured a well-earned River States Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week award on Monday.
A freshman from Frankfort, Gottler was dominant at Midway's first outdoor event of the year on Saturday. Not only did she capture wins in the shot put (11.95 meters), discus (38.83), hammer throw (37.95) and javelin (34.93) at the Asbury Invitational, each high mark set new event records at Midway.
Gottler, who also set the program shot put record during indoor season, was a big part of a breakthrough moment on Saturday, as the women's and men's teams both won on the same day for the first time in school history.
Next up for the Eagles is the Pioneer Invitational at Transylvania University in Kentucky on Saturday.
