ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Emerson VanScoy and
Trinity Gottler wrapped up their respective seasons Friday while competing on the final day of the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at Karl Straus Track in Asheville, North Carolina.
VanScoy competed in the high jump, while Gottler represented the Eagles in the javelin throw.
VanScoy, who earned All-American honors in the pole vault two days earlier, turned in another strong performance in the high jump, narrowly missing a second All-American accolade after finishing tied for 11th place in a field of 23 competitors.
The senior from Teays Valley, West Virginia, successfully cleared 1.62 meters on her opening attempt before running into difficulty at 1.67 meters. Despite narrowly missing the next height, VanScoy still finished tied for 11th overall.
Gottler, making her second consecutive appearance at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, fouled on her opening two attempts before recording a throw of 33.71 meters on her third and final throw.
Friday marked the conclusion of the season for the Midway track & field program. The Eagles turned in a successful 2026 campaign, highlighted by six All-American performances across the indoor and outdoor seasons.
