)LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Midway men's and women's swim teams both took part in a triangle meet against Transy and the University of the South (Tenn.) in Lexington Saturday.
The men lost 164-45 to the University of the South and 149-66 to Transy, while the women lost 142-66 to South and 116-99 to Transy.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
The Eagles opened the day with a win, as
Kaelynn Martin,
Josie Briner,
Sydney Eastman and
Elizabeth Dolberry won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58.03.
Briner also got a win in the 100-butterfly, swimming a 1:01.86. She also took second in the 200 freestyle (2:05.25) and the 100 breaststroke
Other Eagle runners up were
Sydney Eastman in the 100 free (57.94) and 500 free (5:34.63), Martin in the 100 backstroke (1:03.45), and the team of Martin, Dolberry,
Pamela Ramires and
Dyllan Hebert in the 200 free relay (1:48.79).
MEN'S RESULTS
Midway had two second-place finishes in the men's competition, with
Caique Nunes Maia being part of both of them.
Nunes Maia was runner-up in 5:02.17 in the 500 free and teamed with
Jalen Wright,
Rider Burton and
Daniel Maia to swim a 1:31.86 in the 200 freestyle relay.
The Eagles will close the 2025 portion of their schedule at the Centre Invitational in Danville, Ky. on Nov. 21-23.
