GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Midway's
Emerson VanScoy made her national debut at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, placing 13th in the high jump.
VanScoy cleared her first attempt at 1.60 meters, equaling her height from the
River States Indoor Championships earlier this month, in which she set a program record and won a conference championship.
The sophomore then moved up to 1.65, but was unable to clear three attempts.
Midway finished Indoor Nationals with four points, which were earned via a
fifth-place finish from
Nevaeh Brown in pole vault on the first day of competition Thursday. The Eagles' overall finish will be determined when competition concludes on Saturday.
The outdoor portion of the track and field season begins on March 22, with a visit to Lexington for the Pioneer Invitational, hosted by Transy.
