ROCHESTER, Ky. - Midway archer
Emily Phillips had the best performance of a stellar offseason of work at the Kentucky State Championships hosted by the Archery Shooters Association last weekend.
In the co-ed, Olympic Recurve Division, Phillips finished second overall with a score of 178.
This performance was enough to help earn her Women's Shooter of the Year honors in the division. The award is determined by taking a shooter's top-four scores from four different qualifying events hosted in the state throughout the year.
This comes on the heels of the Kentucky State Outdoor Championships in June,
when Phillips placed third in the recurve U21 women's division.Â
Phillips will be a sophomore at Midway this fall. She and the Eagles will begin the 2025-26 season at the 3D Regional Tournament in Williamsburg, Ky. on Sept. 19-20.
