Box Score RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Midway closed out a Friday game against Rio Grande with eight consecutive runs, pulling away for a 10-5 win in the opening game of a River States Conference weekend series.
Down 5-2 in the fifth,
Logan Janiszewski, who had an RBI sacrifice fly in the third inning, cut the deficit to two with an RBI double.
The Eagles then took control of the game with a five-run sixth inning, which following a leadoff single by
Noah Atherholt, who went 3-for-4 at the plate, did not include any more hits.
In a stretch of five batters, Red Storm pitchers walked three with two hit batters and a wild pitch, putting the Eagles ahead 6-5. Things got worse for Rio as next batter Janisewski reached on a throwing error that brought two more runners home.

Xavier Hart got his first win in an Eagle uniform, striking out five in six-and-a-third innings while
Luke Richardson allowed just two hits and no runs in two-and-two-third to secure the save for 24-13 Midway with is 13-6 in RSC play.
The Eagles are creeping closer to the single-season program record of 28 wins set in the 2023 season. They are back in Rio Grande for a doubleheader Saturday, with game one starting at noon.
