MIDWAY, Ky. - After another electrifying week at the plate, Midway's
Randi Delong has been named River States Conference Softball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
In six games last week, Delong hit .625 with eight runs batted in, including
a game-tying, seventh-inning home run in a Saturday game against Shawnee State. This marked the fifth time in the Eagles' last 14 games that Delong had a game-tying or game-winning hit in the sixth inning or later.
Delong, who has hit safely in 15 consecutive games, currently leads the RSC in both home runs (10) and slugging percentage (.832). She's also second in the conference with a .460 batting average and fourth with 43 RBIs.
This is the first Player of the Week award for Delong and the first by a Midway player since
Tenley Gilbert earned it
on April 7, 2025.
Midway begins a busy week at home on Tuesday with a non-conference doubleheader at Georgetown, with game one beginning at 2 p.m.
