ATLANTA- Midway University's Women's Golf Team will open its season on Monday at the Eagle's Open in Atlanta, Georgia, at Marietta City Club.
Entering the new season, Midway's Women's Gold Team is ranked number 24th in the nation following an impressive 2025-26 campaign. the team's success was spearheaded by Head Coach
Otis Smith, who guided the Eagles to a back-to-back conference championship. With the latest title, the program now boasts seven conference championships.
Among the returning players are
Savannah Salchli and
Kasey Cameron, both of whom earned individual accolades during the previous season. Salchli captured the individual title for conference championships while Cameron finished as the runner-up. As they look to build on their success, both players will have an opportunity to set the tone for another strong season when they compete in Monday's season opener.
Their continued success could further add to the growing legacies of both Salchli and Cameron as they pursue another conference championship for Midway. Also returning for her sophomore season is
Anna Simpson. After making an immediate impact across the River States Conference, Simpson returns her second season with the opportunity to continue developing and contributing to the Eagles' success.
With a talented group of returning players and a strong foundation built over the past several seasons, Midway's Women's Golf Team enters the new season with plenty of chances to continue its winning tradition. Whether led by established veterans such as Salchli and Cameron or emerging talent like Simpson, the Eagles will look to make an early statement at the Eagle's Open.
