Midway Golf Tees Off Monday at Wildcat Fall Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.-  The Women's and Men's Golf Team will continue their season traveling to West Lafayette, Indiana for the Wildcat Fall Invitational at the Ackerman-Allen Course.

Coming off a strong start at the Eagles Open, the Women's team finished third place out of seven teams while scoring 118-over par. At the tournament, the team struggled to find their footing through the first-round finishing 44 over par; however, they were able to bounce back in the second round only shooting 34-over par, which was the second-best score of that round in the tournament as a team.  As for the line up on the women's side, Coach Otis Smith announced the following players will be participating in the tournament Kasey Cameron, Anna Simpson, Savannah Salchli, Reese Romer, and Ella Anderson

Kasey Cameron had an excellent showing, finishing fourth place overall at the Eagles Open. Cameron was able to shoot only 14 over par throughout the entire tournament, being a major factor of Midway's placement. Having an outstanding performance in the second round as well, Cameron shot two over par finishing the round with a score of 73.

On the men's side, it's another opportunity to improve their game as we continue the season into this tournament. Finishing seventh overall in their first tournament, this upcoming invitational will be an excellent challenge to make a statement. There is a stacked list of top talents in the men's bracket including teams like Northwestern Ohio, Marian, Campbellsville, Indiana Wesleyan, and more. On the men's side, Coach Smith announces that Tristan Mitchell, Caden Less, Eli Stamper, Caleb Moody, and Jackson Whitaker will be in the lineup for this upcoming tournament.

Coming off a great round, Eli Stamper is looking to continue his success from the first tournament. Stamper was able to shoot only one over par finishing with a final score of 72 leading Midway's team at the tournament. This will be a great opportunity for Stamper to show up and show out in an extremely competitive field of players.
