MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway senior
German Collado has been named River State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Between singles competition and doubles play with partner
Ferran Clapes, Collado has yet to lose a set while putting together a 6-0 record to start the spring.
The award comes after he earned a pair of straight-set wins at No. 4 singles in matches against
Tennessee Southern and
Blue Mountain last week. He and Clapes went 2-0 in doubles play as well, including a 6-4 win from the No. 1 spot against Blue Mountain.
This is the first Player of the Week award won by Collado, who is the first Eagle to receive it since teammate
Aditya Roy on
 April 1 of last year.
Midway will face St. Thomas (Fla.) in Williamsburg, Ky. on Tuesday before traveling to Indiana Southeast for the first RSC match of the season on Friday.Â
