MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway's Cole Sexton was named River States Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week following a weekend that saw the junior earn wins in two events at two different meets.

He started at the Asbury Invitational, where he had a first-place throw of 43.20 meters in discus. Sexton also finished second to teammate Raush Gill in the hammer throw at Asbury with a distance of 44.73.

That was followed by a winning 13.43-meter toss in discus at the Norse Invitational Saturday. This played a role in Midway earning a second-place finish in a field containing multiple NCAA Division-I programs.

This is the second Field Athlete of the Week award won by Sexton this year, who earned the indoor honor on Jan. 6 of this year.

He is the second Eagle to win an RSC outdoor award this season, following Connor Messer's victory on the track side on March 24.

With the River States Conference Championships less than two weeks away, Midway will close the regular season at the Morehead State Eagle Twilight on Friday.
