MIDWAY, Ky. - After helping Midway baseball
earn a series win against Indiana Tech on Saturday,
Tyler Pyles was rewarded with the River States Conference Pitcher of the Week award, the league announced Monday afternoon.
In five innings of work, Pyles allowed one run on five hits with a career-high 10 strikeouts and just one walk. His efforts helped the Eagles earn a 4-1 win, their second in three meetings against the Warriors over the weekend.Â
After recording 16 strikeouts all season in 2025, Pyles has 18 in just nine innings of work over two appearances this year. He currently holds a 2-0 record with a 2.00 ERA.
This is the first Player of the Week award won by Pyles and the first for Midway since
Britten Robinson was named Offensive Player of the Weed
on April 21 of last season. The last Eagle
to win Pitcher of the Week was
Jackson Lee last March 3.
Midway, which is 4-3 on the season, is slated to host Siena Heights (Mich.) for four games this weekend, though a time, date and location for the games is still being finalized.
