Trinity Gottler wins RSC Field Athlete of the Week award

MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway's Trinity Gottler has been named River States Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, following a record-setting, national qualifying first meet of the outdoor track and field season.

The highlight of Gottler's performance at the Pioneer Invitational was a second-place showing in javelin, where her distance of 41.65 meters was enough to hit the NAIA national qualifying 'B' standard, securing her a spot at the Outdoor National Championships for the second straight year.

Javelin was one of three events in which Gottler broke her own previous program records, also doing so in shot put (12.27) and hammer throw (46.99). She finished third in both events

The junior from Lexington also finished second in discus, with her top toss of 40.30 being just .06 meter shy of the program record she set in 2024.

Gottler did all this in her first official meet of 2026. She did not take part in indoor season, as she was competing with the Eagles' women's wrestling team.

This is the second Athlete of the Week award Gottler has won at Midway, the other coming on March 18, 2024.

Midway returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Louisville for the Jim Vargo Invitational, hosted by Bellarmine University.
